Requirements for passengers
To be a passenger you don't need any previous experience. And it doesn't matter if you're young or old, lighter or heavier, tall or short.
In detail, that means:
- Children from 6 years or 25kg
- Maximum weight limit for women: 90 kg, for men: 115 kg
- There is no upper age limit - our oldest passenger to date was 92 years old!
- No acute cardiovascular problems or back problems
- Otherwise it is enough if you are able to run a few quick steps (roughly 10-20 meters)
- Normal fitness
- In winter, it is also possible to start with skis
Equipment and clothing for the passenger:
- Ankle-high shoes with a non-slip sole (no sandals, Crocks, trainers, etc.)
- Good sports clothing appropriate for the weather, which also offers good mobility
- Sun glasses
- Gloves, especially in the colder months
We advise you that accidents can happen when paragliding, whether by starting or landing, through stumbling or not paying attention to instructions. We make every effort to minimise this risk. The passenger is therefore obliged to follow the instuctions of the pilot, at take off and landing, and during the flight, and confirms his good physical and mental condition.
To cover any claims of the passenger under the liabilty provisions of the Austrian Aviation Act, such as in an accident, we have the required insurance - (AXA Insurance AG).
Personal belongings (such as glasses, camaeras, mobile phones and other valuables, including money) must be properly secured or stowed. We can not accept any liability for loss or damage at take off, landing or during the flight.
The planned flight route, landing place and flight time can change at any time - in particular for security reason or safety reasons - without the passenger being entitled to any compensation.
Flying up in the blue sky is one of the most wonderful experiences there is.
And flying on thermals - which means slowly circling like a bird up to the clouds - is the ultimate adventure (see Special Flights / Thermal Flight)
But the sun doesn't always have to shine when we take to the sky.
It also doesn't have to be summer: days with light fog or flights in winter also have their appeal.
What is definitely clear: We don't take any chances!
We do not fly in borderline conditions, for example, with too much wind or similar.
Trust our pilots, they are experienced and know what they are doing. And if you have any questions, they will be more than happy to answer them...
Please understand that it is not possible to promise a specific day. Paragliding is very dependant on the weather and we can not accept reservations far in advance.
We can make the final arrangements based on the current weather forecast about 2-3 days in advance. We may also need to alter arrangements the day before. Therefore please be flexible. We must choose the start point, landing place and time based on the latest weather forecast.
Should your tandem flight be cancelled due to weather conditions or other events, we will make every effort to arrange another suitable appointment for you. Compensation for any additional travel or accommodation costs can not be provided.
The mountains are still covered in snow, the wild flowers are starting to emerge and vibrant green grass grows in the valley. The updraft conditions (thermals) are excellent at this time of year, it is possible to stay up in the air as long as we like, in the correct weather conditions. Therefore we begin our flying season in May.
The mountain lifts operate from June and then we are able to fly in the whole of the Zillertal (Fügen, Mayrhofen and Tux). We can easily ascend up into the high mountains, where we can enjoy the impressive views. And on particularly hot days, a tandem flight can provide a refreshing experience...
The evenings become cooler again, the leaves start to change and the mounain world becomes an impressive backdrop of colour. This is an especially wonderful time to fly with us. The lifts are in operation until the middle of October.
This is also a wonderful time of year to float over the snow covered landscape. The flights are a little shorter but it's the perfect way to glide back down to the valley after a day skiing. As soon as the ski season starts, we are able to offer flights from the Penken in Mayrhofen, and, in good conditions, from the Zeller Ski Arena, from Spieljoch in Fügen and also the Kristallhütte in Kaltenbach.
